Our Wine club this month enjoyed a Chardonnay tasting, with line ups from NZ, California and France.
We tasted 6 wines blind, the first 3 from NZ. Felton Road 11 from Central Otago, Neudorf Moutere 11 from Nelson and Kumeu River Mates Vineyard 09 from Auckland.
What a line up all 3 stunning wines and great to try different styles from the different regions.
Next 3 were Au Bon Climat 2010 from Santa Barbara, William Fevre 09 from Chablis and Chassagne Montrachet 09 from Burgundy.
Again completely different styles, the Chablis as traditionally made in a lower alcohol 12 % was my favourite.
With a food match of pork belly and slaw presented by Ali, it was a fantastic evening.
