Day trips from Crete are relatively easy, following maps and signs. We tried to keep them to around 30-45 minute drives, but that doesn’t take in getting lost in a walled city trying to find a car park. Driving through very narrow streets laden with hundreds of tourists that make sheep look smart. !
Finally an Italian chap obviously felt sorry for us after following us up after narrow street after street and pointed to a paying carpark. Once safely inside you caught a lift up to the village. Quite a relief.
After telling this to our hosts back at Creti, Stefano laughed and said. ” Si part of the experienco !!”
We had a great lunch at a café outlooking the village arena. I had a tagglitale with artichoke and bacon. Yum !!
